This is a great solo, it always cheers me up when I hear the tune on the radio. From the low range of the beginning notes the solo sounds like it's played in C6 tuning. Is that the one you're working out of?
If I had more time I'd tackle this one. Maybe one of the C6 gurus will do that for us (HINT):>)

| That's E9th. At least you can sure do it on E9th. I'd recommend doing the Paul Franklin E9th speed picking course. It would give you all the tools to be able to hear just what he's doing and more. The last half sounds like it came right out of the course. |

Of course. Wish I would have turned you on to a P/P Emmons. I still have my D-12 Emmons, along with Garcia's ZB and a couple of Dekleys.
I'm thinking of an E9th Advanced Speed Picking course I bought from PF about 10 years ago. Maybe Scotty has it. Dunno.
One thing that'll get you going, though, if you haven't already done it, is to nail the "Walk of Life" solo. There's tab here on the Tab section. It looks like he plays it a little different from the way I do, and the way Larry Bell does, but it looks OK. Tomorrow I'll sit down with it and compare versions.

| I did a 5-minute check tonite and there are a lot of places where he uses a minor third on strings 7 and 6 with the B pedal, and it's more efficient to go back 2 frets and use 6 and 5 no pedals. Especially the last half of the second line. It keeps you on frets 6 and 7. Also, I question the use of strings 1,2, and 5, where you can get the same inversion elsewhere. Hi all. Before I start sending out copies of tab for "Me Neither", I am going to talk to Mike Johnson and make sure he doesn't mind. It was his work we are admiring. I also did the" Walk of Life" solo back when it first came out. TIP: Remember that Paul sometimes loves to slide his bar when you think it was a pedal.

Is the Emmons your main axe?
Did you tab the "Walk of Life" solo? It's really interesting to see different transcriptions of the same piece.
