could someone please tab this for me?

Post by Guy Nixon-Luke »

Hi,
Could some one please tab this awesome piece of Paul Franklin's steel playing with Dire Straits? I've been trying to work it out for a while to no avail Image Is anyone aware of his steel setup on this tour? You can download the MP3 file here...

Thanks in advance... Image

Guy.
When you ask about his steel set-up.Are you asking about his pedal, knee pedal set-up or his rack gear?
Sorry I can't do tab.But I can tell you he only used his A&B pedals and the knee that lowers the E's to Eb for (this) solo.As for his rack gear on this tour I have no idea.Randle Currie can maybe tell you.Pauls complete copendent is listed here but not needed for this solo.http://b0b.com/tunings/franklin.htm

thanks Bobby, I was just wondering about his pedal/knee setup in relation to this solo, which you've answered. I'd still love a tab of this if anyone feels up to it!

Thanks

Guy
What CD is this from? I have a live Dire Straits CD somewhere.I haven't played it in years and this tune don't ring a bell. This solo is very pretty but sounds easy to play.I'm sure someone will have you going in short order.Regards-----bb

Bobby, This is from the CD called "Dire Straits - On The Night". The song is Romeo & Juliet (track 4) this is just the outro. It's a awesome CD with Paul Franklin really showing how a great PSG can be in rock. Knopfler also plays some fantastic stuff (of course)...

Ok, here goes, I'll probably end up embarrassing myself Image . If it doesn't come out right, let's blame it on lack of sleep and I'll try it again in the morning Image

David, thanks for the Tab. This track means a lot to me, this piece of steel playing was one of the driving forces for me to buy a steel guitar, such emotion. Thanks Again.

No Problem Guy. Please let me know if you find any errors or if you have any questions. I checked and doubled checked the tab before I posted, but I was pretty tired when I got in from band practice last night.

Yes David, it helped me heaps! Thanks again... I'm now asking someone to post the tab for Amazing Grace, not having much luck though.

Cheers,

Guy
