Mooney turnaround lick

Post by slim simon »

I know Mooney had an unusual copedant that allowed him to do some stuff most of us can't with a normal setup. I've had (a little) luck copping the intro to Rainy day Woman with a standard copedant. I'm hoping someone can help me with a lick I hear Mooney do on the Waylon Live record. It's sort of a turnaround 7th lick he does to punctuate a vocal, or the end of a solo. Some examples from the Waylon live record are: Big Balls in Cowtown @:49 sec. in; Bob Wills is Still the King: @ 2:35 in; and Lonesome, Ornery, and Mean: @ 1:00 in. Wish I could explain it better. Thanks in advance.
