Computer program for tab?

This is a link to Harmony Central's (Window's) software page for guitar. There are a bunch of tab programs out there - some good, some not so great. 'TablEdit' isn't bad.

I make my own "Tab Paper" with my wordprocessor program (Word 2000).

I haven't tried it but MS Works (which comes with many PC's) may even do it.

TABLEDIT isnt bad???

I think its wonderful, and I wrote to the author about the limited PSG implementation and he said that the only thing holding back improvements is a lack of suggestions from steelers.

He's added banjo, harmonica, recorder tab and a lot more. He is willing to work on it being the perfect PSG tab writer, reader and player.

Im not knowledgable enough or I would start sending him examples.

You can make tab tables easily in MS word. To set up a word table,for tablature, go to the "Table" menu, click "Insert
Table" and then choose the number of rows and columns, usually three columns
and ten rows. You will have to size these to your liking by using the
"Table" menu. To do this, select the column you want to resize (drag or use
menu commands), then use the "Cell Height and Width" command. Then select
the table (drag the mouse or use the "Table" menu and click "Select Table")
then go to the "Format" menu, click "Borders and Shading", and click "Grid".
Then copy and paste the table three times and you will have four staves of
blank tablature. Sounds more complicated than it is! I usually add an extra column above each stave of tab for writing comments, chords, etc. You can't use this to post tab to the forum but you can email to anyone who has MS Word, and it makes beautiful printed hard copies. You have to enter actual tablature onto the staff one line (string) at a time, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. Good luck. For anybody who wants more in depth instructions, email me.
