San Antonio Rose need help with chords...

Post by Tele »

Hi

just fooled around with this old Bob Wills tune and I thought someone could come up with a cool chord to return from the bridge into the verse (IV to I ) I play it on E9th in A but any key will do.
The chord that I now play is an E7 to return to A but something jazzier is what I have in mind...

thanks in advance

Andy

The augmented chord is probably what you're looking for: Eaug. The notes in it are E, G# and B# (C).

The melody note (last note of the bridge) is a D natural, and while an Eaug would work, I nominate a Bb7b5

13th fret, pedals A, B, and E-Eb lever. Resolves to A chord on 12th fret in usual position.

Wow great to see my long time friend Herb Steiner over in these parts. And of course Herb is the "King o Swing"; and that chord he put down is a great one of course for that change. And if you are in the pedal down E chord>7th fret on E9 pedal steel; just hit your E raise for the aug. chord and better yet; if you lower your 6th string a whole tone on that fret along with the E raise; you will have a nice Augmented chord going there too.
Hey Herb; come around more often pal; you a great teacher and have tons of knowledge; alot of us can use over here my brother.
