Theme Time revisited
Well, no wonder I haven't been able to find that song...I've been looking in the H's instead of the L's.Seriously, I want to say I'm sorry to Mr. Lee for wrongly crediting Mr. Helms for his song, but I was told by my Aunt that that song was by Don Helms,I should have known better ,she gets EVERYBODY'S name wrong!so anyway please forgive me I didn't mean to offend you Mr. Lee. So let's try this again Does anyone have the tab for "Theme Time" by Bobby Lee? And can you tell me what album it is on. Thanks ,Jeff

I was not offended in the least. It's quite possible that Don Helms wrote a song called "Theme Time". I called my tune that because a bandleader used to turn to me before a break and say, "It's theme time", and he expected me to come up with an instrumental.
I doubt that my song is the one you want. The only recording of it is on my 1995 CD, "Quasar Steel Guitar", which wasn't widely distributed.
I've never tabbed it out, but I can probably dig up a chord chart if you're interested.

I just dug out the chord chart I used for that session. Here it is:
<pre>
Theme Time
4/4 swing tune in C by Bobby Lee
an AABA type progression
note: The G7b5b9 chord is usually played as Db9 on the guitar.
"A" Verses (12 bars)
[C |C |C |C7 |
|F |F#dim |C |A9 |
|D9 |G7b5b9 |C69 |C ]
"B" Bridge (8 bars)
[F7 |F7 |C |C |
|A9 |A9 |D9 |G7b5b9 ]
Notes:
~Head of tune is AABA
~Solos are AABA
~During solos, the first line of the verses is different:
[C |F F#dim |C |C7 C7#5 |
~Number of solos depends on the band (typically piano is first)
~After last solo, go to bridge, then play verse with tag as follows:
[C |C |C |C7 |
|F |F#dim |C |A9 |
|D9 |G7b5b9 |Cmaj7 |A9 |
|D9 |G7b5b9 |C69 ]
