Blame it on your heart (ploveless)
hi everybody,
I have been trying to play the solo in Patty Loveless' Blame it on your heart.
Now, after all those years I would not expect it would be so hard.
Can somebody please help me out here?
Best regards from Holland,
Tom

Thanks. Glad the audition went well. At first I tried to play it way to difficult in all the wrong positions. After I figured out where the solo ended the rest just came by itself (accidently).
Thanks to B0B, this forum is the BEST.
Everything is possible if we all "push/pull" in the same direction.

Steel-intro. I am not 100% sure I got It right. Can someone confirm that this is possible to play at the required tempo.

Bengt,
I wish I could help, but whenever I play this song, I just approximate the beginning. The problem for me is that the recorded mix is so thick and complex, with the steel and lead guitar playing a duet that goes right up to the start of the lyrics, that I just can't cleanly pick out the steel from the rest, and I usually end of playing some steel parts and guitar parts, sometimes both at the same time!!!. Sorry I can't help. Hopefully someone can shed some light. Regards and Happy Holidays, Jeff
[This message was edited by Jeff Lampert on 08 December 2000 at 08:15 AM.]

Do you refer to bar 1-4, or bar 5-8 of the intro?
Bar 5-8 is all duet between steel and guitar. I can tell you what I play, but I do not know if it is exactly the same. Also depends on what the guitar is playing.
I (still) cannot hear what the steel plays in bar 1-4, if any. Seems to be all guitar (two parts). It is also a good effect if the guitar plays this part with a harmonizer (one octave).

The steel comes in at 00:03:12. Everything before is guitar. It is easier to isolate the steel if you only listen to Left/right speaker at a time. Here is the whole intro.

Not easy to play the first part at the required speed. (He might use B -> Bb instead of the E -> F before the walkdown) Compare with the first posted example.
