I've Got The World On A String
Does anybody have this song tabbed for C6th? Verse and chorus?
Larry Lenhart has posted several C6th tabs for some really great old standards like this one. Larry? John Steele? How about it?
Larry and John: thanks for all of those you have done for us. You're super!

Thanks for your kind words-I hope my tabs do help people. I know there are some mistakes in them but hopefully people will find them, correct them, and make them better. I dont have this one tabbed now, but it is a great song and deserves to be played on the steel, doesnt it? I will try to do it soon and post it when I am done.
Thanks again for your encouragement.

Hey Bud. This is just an aside--it's funny how sometimes a popular song becomes associated in one's mind with a version that may be far off the beaten path. I don't know who you would call the definitive performer of this but in my mind the version I hear is from an LP I have of Serge Charloff, baritone sax. I don't remember much about him (I used to know some stuff but, well, you know...) I think he was one of the 4 horsemen, maybe, from Woody Herman's band?
But this recording just defines cool for me.

Jon;
Thanks for the info. I will try to find that version.
CNBC is airing a really cool version of this in their promo...jazzy vocal with big band, that really gets my blood flowing...even early in the morning.
I sit down at my guitar, knowing that I can work this tune out, only to find that I don't know where to start. I'm hoping that John or Larry (or any other C6 technician)can add some cool to my playing soon with a tab of this great old tune.

Bud, that "Laura" is one of my favorites too.
I played that on my 6 pedal 8 string Gibson Electra-harp in 1948.
I never tried to tab it out. I find tab hard to write, too much work.
It is sure great to have tab on the Forum for the guys. Thanks to the good ones like Larry Lenhart!
I am lucky to be able to play all those old songs from memory....al
