Does anyone have tab for Charlie Walker's "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down"? I'd really appreciate it.
thanks

Hey Slim the sound clip of the intro and solo to that song is on the 1958 page of the Rebel and Ricky site; but there isn't a tab for it. I could tab both those for ya but won't be able to get to it until next week. I'm headin' out of town for pretty much the rest of this week; tomorrow. If someone wants to tab those while I'm gone and send them to Graham Reid(Rebel); that would be great too; and he will get them up there.
The link to the site is under my name here.

Slim:

You might want to check out Jeff Newmans Woodshed Worshop Series. He has this course tabbed out and on cassette. One good thing about Jeff's course is that he provides you with the intros, turn-arounds, and fills as originally recorded and then provides you with a whole lot more expansion on the song to give you more ideas on how the song can be played. I think this course is only $10.00. That's a good deal for all you get with it.

Hey Ricky

still like to get your tab here for us Europeans not able to order it because of the high costs due to the weak EURO currency and shipping costs.

NO problem Tele; when I get home after the weekend; I'll tab it out and it will be on the "Rebel and Ricky" site as soon as I can get to it.

Hey Andy you can do it pal. All you really need it the lever you already have(raising the E note) and on that part just play the 7th string as a slant with strings 4 and 5 and it is an easy slant pal. Here's what it looks like.

You might try strings 4,5, and 7 with a half pedal on 5 at fret 11. I have been trying to duplicate this ride exactly for a long time and thanks to some ideas from you guys I think I finally have it. These same notes are but with a different texture are available at fret 14 using 5,6 & 8 with pedal a&b with 8 lowered.
Try it and see what you think

is the same tones as what is on 10th fret.
Actually I can play this whole solo note for note probably 4 different ways; but finding the right texture of strings and ease of placement is the key and knowing the pedal and knee lever capabilities of the player.
Sometimes it's hard to tab some of the classics because their steels didn't sound anything like we are used to hearing today and string combinations they used throw me tone wise on where to locate that combination.
Lloyd Green always said: "Know how to play the piece one way; and then learn it note for note, a couple more ways".
Have fun.

I have the complete tab for Pick Me up On Your Way Down complete with practice tape.I bought it from Al Brisco, The Steel Guitar Club of Canada. It is great and well worth the money. If you purchase it, the key on the tape and the key on the tab are different so you just have to change the tab by two frets. If you want e-mail me at jcrawford41@home.com
