I feel a little guilty about taking up so much space: (1) these arent tunes anyone has requested, (2) they arent professional arrangements, (3) they may not be tunes anyone cares to play on the steel.

I tabbed this song this summer. I got the inspiration from a recording by Chet Atkins in the 60's on his "Guitar Genius" album that he recorded with his brother Jim Atkins-who has a voice similar to Bing Crosby. Then a few days ago someone posted a PBS site for the Garrison Keiller (spelling?) show "Prairie(spelling?) Home Companion" and on that show Buddy Emmons played this tune along with a violin player, whose name I do not know. Do a search on Emmons on PBS and within that section Bob put a direct link to the show in 1998 at 151.05 where the song begins.
[This message was edited by Larry Lenhart on 09 August 2000 at 11:23 AM.]

Buddy Emmons recorded a great version of this tune on one of his recent Swing Shift CD's.
I think it's on the "It's all in the Swing" CD.

Hi Larry, It makes me feel good to see you ,and others putting out these tabs for the younger steel players. We need more of this showing all the old tunes. I played most of them in my time, I remember playing " Out of Nowhere" about 1948 on my Gibson 6 pedal 8 string Electra-Harp, "where or when", "talk of the town"(that would be a good one to do). Thanks for the backups CD, now I can sit down and play my old tunes with a backup band that knows the chords...al
