Gary Carpenter teach tape

Post by Ricky Davis »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My mentor; Gary Carpenter; is offering a teach tape(s); of any of his songs of his pedal steel instrumental CD. He already has the songs "Blue"; "Look at us" and a couple more. If there is any song you would like off his CD; he will teach it to you on a cassette tape. If you don't have his CD; you can order it from Gary; and if you have it, and are ready to learn some of the most beautiful and coolest steel guitar played by Gary Carpenter; give him a call and make your order. I'm only promoting this because; I personally think Gary Carpenter is one of the most perfect players out there and offers the coolest renditions of songs on the pedal steel. He has taught me a few; but I am getting them all. Gary Carpenters' phone number is: 817-560-carp(2277)

Sorry Dean; I've been out of town. Gary played some on C6th and E9th. I would say about half. If you have a question of what song is played on what; you can ask me here. Hope that helps.

OK, Ricky, I'm askin'. If you know which are in E9th and which are in C6th, I'd love to know 'cause it'll determine how interested I am in getting ahold of the tape.

Thanks.

Thanks, Ricky. I'll be giving him a call, there's definitely enough there to grab my interest.

Much obliged.

I got my Gary Carpenter tape on Wednesday. It is very good. I have enjoyed his CD since it came out (had the tape before that) and now am busy working on "The Nearness of You" and his arrangement of "Look at Us".
His tapes are very good, just like his playing and I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in learning new stuff. All of his playing really knocks me out !! He is one of the best, in my opinion.

I just got the CD today, and Gary is truly a virtuoso! Really great stuff! He has a nice tone, and his playing on the C6th may rekindle my interest in learning on that neck (I have never gotten around to the C6th tuning). If anyone loves to hear the steel up front and in your face, this is a great CD, with great performances not only on the steel, but the back up band, too.
