Forgive my ignorence, please. Can one of you learned people inlighten me -- Who played Steel with Ray Benson on the 25th of January, on the Opry? What was he playing? How was it tuned? Jimmy(?) is a fantastic picker!!!!!

That's the legendary Big Jim Murphy, back with the Wheel full-time following chemotherapy in the summer. Murph is a complete monster player, with or without pedals - plays a Bethel D-10 as well as his stand-up non-pedal setup. I don't know what his tunings are. |

Thanks Guys! I would love to know how he changes the E9th tuning to PLAY that way WITHOUT PEDALS. Your right, he is a true master of the instrument -- and the music.

Didn't see that show, but I know he plays a 7/8 Rocco. I'd like to know if that is Noel Bogg's old Epi? Big Jim Rules!
