James...

The two pickups that seem to be in favor are the McIntyre "Feather" and the new Fishman. Both are available from multiple sources including Resophonic Outfitters (Paul Beard Guitars) 301-733-8271.

I preamp is recommended for both.

I've got the original McIntyre and like it fine!

Hi James, I have an old McIntyre in my 85 Dobro D-60 and I just ordered a new Fishman to install in my Dobro F-60. $86.00 at Elderly. I chose the passive over the active because I didn't want to have to figure out where to put the battery. When I get them both up and running together, I will do some comparisons.

God Bless, Michael T.

And stay warm up there!
