A. Jackson "Don't Even Know Your Name" lick?

Post by Tony Rankin »

There is a lick in the chorus of this Alan Jackson song that I want to learn. Paul Franklin is probably the artist who played it. It follows the words, "I'm married to a waitress and I don't even know her name..." and then the next words are "I never was too good at all those..." I thought I had every CD Alan ever recorded, but apparently I don't have this one. I'm hoping someone else knows this particular lick and can help me by tabbing it. It would sound perfect in a song I am learning. I can hear it in my head, but can't quite get it right to play it. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

This will be dbl-spaced, but at least you can read it......hopefully! The first lick you need to 'wiggle' the bar(listen to the record) and the second lick it really helps if you got your right hand happenin'. Think of the notes and not what fingering you're using and it'll roll right off your fingers and sound just right. Go ahead and search, there is no easy way around the fact that you have to play this line quickly. No, you don't have to 'thumb-finger-thumb' this, I don't, but you need to be comfortable with your picking patterns...and relax. peace......Jeff
