That will work "C". I guess it will give you a little more life out of that 3rd string, the less times you have to hit the "B" pedal (ha....).
I always use the pedal up or pedal down positions as a reference to the chord your playing when I teach on the steel. Also, you will already have the pedal ingauged for the next line and it will give you no chance in pedaling into the open 3rd string, which would be a wrong phrasing for that lick. Later,
