A couple of years back on the Conan O'Brian show, playing what looked like a 7/8 Epiphone Rocco was one hot steeler whom I've been told was Big Jim Murphy. He had a lot of beard and hair, and was workin the swells ala Kayton, like crazy. The song was Cocaine Blues. Anyone know if it was Murph, and if that guitar is Boggs' old Epi?

I've heard Jim work the after-hours clubs in Oklahoma City many years ago....and he could do any of it! It could have been him. www.genejones.com

Are you reffering to his guitar or volume and tone pedal? Tony Rocco designed both the guitar and pedal for Epiphone.Tony was a good friend of mine.

Thanx for asking Jody, as for the swells, he was using the knobs on the guitar, and as for the guitar itself, was that Noel's oldie? Having never seen a Rocco up close, can you give some info on it's constuction and materials as well as the pedal. That is one of many steels that I've had a fascination about, and it sure sounded great in Big Jim's hands. Any info on Tony would be terrific too!
