We just can't say enough good things about Randy Beavers and his superb and unique method of playing.

Randy plays a 'stock' E9 tuning and I would swear he was playing C6th.

I have tried to find some of this stuff to no avail.
Randy is now one of the regulars on our Georgia Steel Guitar Association show and we are proud to have him.

Here is Randy from our Feb. 2024 show.
Randy Beavers - CUSTOM One of a kind Zumsteel
Bill Cunningham - Bass
Johnny 'B' Basler - Drums
Bob Strickland - Guitar
Kurt Johnson - Piano

Randy is such a wonderful and toneful player. I've been listening to him since the 70s. Just great stuff and an innovative musician.

I just love the way he plays the steel. It certainly sounds like he's playing C6. Awesome. NM

The complex chords that Randy is able to get out of a 3x5 has always astounded me, and then add to that the beautiful way he connects those complex chords just leaves me shaking my head in awe and admiration. No one like Randy ... AND some of the best TONE on the planet.

Bill that was an awesome set. Randy plays so well and gets more from a S10 simple setup than anyone. And his tone is incredible. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for that, Bill. I needed my Randy fix. Anyone know his amp setup?

I’ll comment in case Randy doesn’t see this. He was playing through a TC Furlong SPLIT and assorted stomp boxes that day. I don’t remember the pre-amp but he uses a Wet Reverb often.

I really don’t think the rig matters. I saw him play a couple months before this show and he was using a small Fender, Deluxe maybe and also sounded great. 😊

I know Randy has a P2P amp that's really a tone monster. The Deluxe Reverb he built or rebuilt is awesome too. Randy seems to pull great tones from all the gear he uses. I think he has a magical touch and talent is mind blowing.

I especially loved his version of “Everytime I touch you I get high”. I first heard Buddy do it on the ‘76 convention and it tore me up. Still does.
