jimmy Day Tablature

Post by Ben Rubright »

In the late 90's I purchased by mail a book of tab from Jimmy Day. Ths songs included are as follows:
1. Danny Boy
2. Wild Side of Life
3. I Love Your Because
4. Wedding Bells
5. There She Goes

With the book came a note saying that Book 2 would be ready by the following May. The songs that it was to contain are as follows:
1. City Lights
2. Farewell Party
3. Linda on my Mind
4. I Wonder Where You are Tonight
5. I Love You So Much it Hurts Me

Does annyone know if Book 2 was ever made available? I would sure like to have a copy of it if it exista.

The copyright date of Book 1 is 1996.

I found the check that I wrote for Book 1. It is dated March of 1996.

Hi Ben
Yes it exists. I have my copy in front of me now. The copyright date is 1996.
I have converted a lot of my tab into PDF form so I can read them in Calibre (E-book app) on my laptop. Unfortunately not done Jimmy's yet. PM me you e-mail & I'll see what I can do...

Guys, if at all possible I would love to get copies of these. I have never seen anything by Jimmy Day. I would pay for the copies, or let me know where to get them. Thanks a million.

I do not have Book 1 in PDF format nor have I the means to convert it. I have Book 2 in PDF format due to the fact that Peter Lindsley sent it to me. With his permission, I will send it to you both but I suspect it is all best handled by him since he is the 'owner' of the PDF's..

Jimmy Day Tab

Post by Jim Reynolds »

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed. Looks like Jimmy used his B & C pedal, as most do their A & B. Interested to see what others may think, or notice.

Hi Jim

you are correct in his tab he still indicates C for pedal three

Image [/img]

although if you think like an Emmons setup there really reversed... C,B,A :D

Yes That's why they are commonly referred to as "Emmons setup" and "Day setup". Most of us these days use the Emmons set up. I sat in one time in Florida years ago on a guy's guitar that was set up "Day". I'll never do it again. You don't realize how ingrained it has become until you try it the other way on stage on the fly.

Peter Lindsley has kindly taken the time to send many of us his .pdf files of Jimmy Day tabs.
Peter graciously declined any payment for his efforts, but suggested perhaps a forum donation for his efforts. Mine is sent, thanks much Peter, you're a class act!
