Those MPX's are great and pretty hard to beat. I had 3 of them at one time. I'm now using a Benado Steel Dream, but thats not a Rackmount, and truthfully the onboard reverb on the Quilter 202 Toneblock I use, I could easily get away with just that, and know several guys that use only that. I've heard good things about the Lexicon PCM 90?, but they're maybe 3 times the price of the MPX.
Sorry, guess I didn't really answer your question

Lexicon MPX-1
I ended up trying to replace the internal battery in the MPX-1.
Removing the old battery was difficult but I finally got it out, however installing a new battery was a compromise. I had to apply some "high quality duct tape" to re-seat the new battery to keep it in place.
It was successful though and now the MPX-1 functions just like it was brand new. So happy I am. Yeah !!!

Hi Kerry.
Just a quick question. Did you lose all of your "user" presets when you changed the battery?
I have a couple of those units sitting around and they still seem to work fine. I'm just curious as to the above question. One thing for sure is that no one ever stated they were "user" friendly but the sound is hard to beat.
Thanks
Ray D

I like the Lexicon MX300 Stereo Reverb Effects Processor. You can hook it up to your computer or just use the dials to zero in on your own sound. You can save the presets you develop on your computer, as a back up. Plus you can pick up profiles developed by other users. The parameters for reverb and delay and other effects are quite numerous and really give you the ability to sculpture the sound you are working on.
It is a nice unit and I found the learning curve was pretty short compared to other units I have used.
The average price on Reverb.com seems to be around $215.00.

I am still a rackmount believer and it packs a good punch for only one slot.
