Jazz Theory (on the C6) for the Pedal Steel Guitarist

Post by Daniel Jones »

Winter's coming.🥶 What a great time to "woodshed" on your C6 neck playing!

Want to expand your capabilities on the C6 neck?

Want to understand more the musical language of standards?

Want to develop your own ideas more easily over standards?

If your answer to any of these questions is "yes," this book is for you!

Are you the Daniel Jones that played in the S.F Bay Area in the 70's, specifically with Norton Buffalo? Inquiring minds want to know! 🤠

Hi John,

Indeed I am. To borrow from another SF area group: "what a long, strange trip it's been."

I've been looking for something like this book for awhile, so I got one. Just getting started in it, and I find it to be written extremely well - very clear, examples given, and specific issues relating to C6 pedal steel are quite conversationally addressed. Also, Daniel has been terrific in our interactions. All thumbs up!

I have this book and find it very rewarding. It's easy to break into practice sized pieces, has beautiful recorded examples, and is well worth the money.

This is CHOCK-FULL of very well explained ideas that I refer back to every time I need clarification or just to understand what on earth I'm trying to do, so basically ALL THE TIME!!!

This is digging deeper than I'm accustomed to dig, but I'm got my shovel and continued digging will certainly deepen my understanding. There is textbook knowledge in here.
