Props to Jon Light

Post by Thornton Lewis »

I am blessed to have Jon within 30 minutes of my home. He has repaired my Williams 7x5 Uni several times and recently moved a bunch of stuff to give me a C6 pedal 4 type change in the 0 position.
He not only did the work quickly and effectively as always but also went over the whole guitar fixing potential problems and pointing out minor idiocies in my setup and abuse of the instrument (yes I am Mr. Under the Post tuner, but I can be taught.) All at a reasonable cost.
Plus he has chronic Gear Acquisition Syndrome so you can look at all his cool stuff and not have to buy it yourself.
I whole heartedly recommend him for all PSG work. Thanks Sensei!

Count your blessings. You are quite fortunate to have Jon so close by.

Ask questions and take notes of his answers and suggestions.

It's nice to be able to concentrate on playing without a poorly functioning guitar to distract you.

I'm not in the area but I will also commend Jon on answering all of my tenderfoot questions about my new guitar. He seems like a standup fella as far as I can tell.

Aw man. Hey, thanks for the shout out.
It's a labor of love.
And hate.
I love to be up to my elbows in steel guitar.
I hate that there is a guitar anywhere that is not working as it should. It offends my sense of decency.
And I love holding people hostage in my house in the woods where I can drink too much coffee and talk and talk steel guitar.
You were lucky to time your visit so you could enjoy my annual Stink Bug Rodeo! It's a good'un this year.

Jon is one of the heroes of the SGF - I wish he didn't live so far away!

He's helped me numerous times via PM and stopped me making a gigantic blunder more than once!! :)

Thanks, Jon.

Jon's a real stand up guy,... actually when he plays, he a real sit down guy! :D
