Have you tried McMaster Carr. They have a bunch of hex internally threaded rod connectors. I don’t recall the size for ZB guitars.

Thanks Tony- the shortest they have for 6-32 is 3" and I was hoping for something shorter but they do have the right and left handed threads on them so I've got that goin for me

ZB pull train rod and spokes are 6-40 thread. The spokes are right-handed , and the pull rods are lefty's. You can buy 1/4 hex aluminum rods from McMaster-Carr, and center drill and tap them on a small lathe.
