Some more Bach

Post by Guy Cundell »

This is the famous prelude BWV 846. It's the first piece in his 24 Preludes and Fugues for Piano and the most basic, but it is not without twists.

I have transposed it from C to G for A6, which would put it in Bb for C6 high G.

I have tried to allow as many notes as possible to sustain as a piano could, but it is a struggle. I aimed to get at least the final three notes of each bar on a straight bar, which requires both forward and reverse slants. And there are plenty of string skips to negotiate.

I hope some will find this useful.
