That isn't JC's old one with the back neck reinstated, is it?

Such a pretty guitar!

Yes this is his previous steel. I spent many hours restoring it to a D12. It is a real tone machine

In my admittedly limited experience, an MSA D-12 is magnificent. I had to sell mine because I was broke due to medical matters, but of all the steels I've owned, an MSA D12 is my first choice.
Steel crazy after all these years.

$100 reward for info leading to the purchase of a fender D8 white, yellow, or butterscotch.

What is not really amazing to me, but so happy it's occurring, is that "with cabinet by Mark Giles" is becoming a definite selling point when describing an instrument for sale.

Of course, Mark is a dear friend of mine and I've owned and played a few of his guitars (currently including a beautiful maple/rosewood Fessenden to die for), so seeing others praise his work is gratifying to me.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Just a beautiful steel. To satisfy the curiosity of an old man, how much does the steel weigh?

Weight

Post by Dustin Cook »

I don’t know, I would normally just weigh it and tell you, however I got plowed by a car last week and I can’t lift anything that heavy at the moment. The steel isn’t actually very heavy, not much more than any standard D10.

This is a guitar I built for myself. It served me well for several years.

Right and Johnny you did a great job on this one. I owned it for awhile and enjoyed it looks, playability, and sound great steel for sure. Just about got it back off you at one point again and you changed your mind. which I do not blame or hold anything against you for that. take care my friend and good luck on your sale Dustin on this fine steel. If I played d-12 it would be very tempting, but at my age that will not happen and trying to slow down and move some of my own inventory.
