My '79 is stamped DST xxxx. I'm not sure how the numbering works.. it seems they had different numbering systems. The ST (which I thought was the Single Ten) and the DST (for the (D)ouble body Single Ten) may have had different systems.. hopefully, some one here can help us both out! 😄

It sounds like an early LeGrande S/N.

Edited:

Ooops!

It's clearly a p/p, but 2002? Is this one of the SDs that Doug Palmer was building in Burlington from old bodies that lay in their basement?

The number is a mystery. I thought those few 'late' P/Ps weren't numbered, but my recollection is sketchy. I watched Doug doing one back in 2004, I believe. My impression was that they were all lacquer but maybe they weren't.

I know some people put LeGrande pedals on PPs, so that might explain the pics..?

I had an early 80's SD10 PP , came with those black LeGrande style pedals. Have seen lots of pics of 80's PP's that had the LeGrande pedals. The early LeGrande pedals were black , later ones were silver . I am far from an expert though .
