George Harrison covered this song

Post by Joachim Kettner »

As far as I know George Harrison didn't do many covers from other people's songs. Here is one. The original comes from English singer Charlie Dore. It's called Fear Of Flying.

Charlie's version:

George's:

I listened to George first, I liked that, I didn't know Charlie was a chick, I liked that, kinda ABBAish.

Joachim, George also recorded "I've Got My Mind Set On You", which was written by a fairly successful '60s-'70s writer named Rudy Clark. It was one of George's most famous later songs, and it made it to the top of the charts, #1 in 1987.

Original version, recorded by James Ray in 1962...

I bought her album back in the late seventies, Donny. I thought it was kind of "avarage", I apreciated her talent after listening to it years later. Thanks for replying.
And the original by Johnny Ray is very good and I think quite unusual for 63. I think I heard mandolins at the end.
