Vintage MSA Single-Neck 12-String Pedal Steel

Post by Bob Roden »

Hello --

I am reluctantly ready to part with the pedal steel I have owned since 1975, when I bought it used at a music store in Reno.

It is an MSA, single neck, 12 strings, 3 pedals, 4 knee levers. Grover tuning gears. It is in decent used condition, everything works, etc. Red color, sort of an inlay-looking design trim.

I love the sound of it. I played it on the road for three years, and it has mostly sat in its case since 1979.

Amazingly, I even have the owners manual for it, which happened to be in the case when I bought it. It has a lot of good details about setup and adjustment, etc. – one of the better manuals I’ve seen.

Asking $2500 plus actual insured shipping cost, within the continental U.S. only. Or come pick it up in person if you’re near the San Francisco Bay Area.

Please email me to inquire: br@bobroden.com

Thanks,
Bob

Nice old steel, Bob. MSAs are solid, reliable, sound good (to my ears!) and this one's a bargain if a player is into--or wants to try out--a 12 string.

Cool white tuners, too!

Here is a link to a short recording of this guitar playing a couple of brief solos: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/bskk653u ... 6d1xb&dl=0

This was a home recording going straight into the computer, so it's pretty much the pure sound of the instrument.

In answer to several inquiries: yes, I am open to reasonable offers for this guitar.
