Good photo of Shot Jackson on a non pedal Fender-looks like a Fender Console. This is from a 1992 book entitled "The World of Country Music" Andrew Vaughan. Photo is from WSM Opry show with Roy Acuff.

Shot Jackson
Look HARD at that picture. Instead of the standard "Dual Eight Pro" triple leg arrangement there are four legs. Two are side by side and it looks as if there is a rod or cable in between them running down to the floor. Then look at Shot's left foot angle. Looks like he's using a single pedal there. This is how he made his pedal "conversions", with the two legs side by side for stability when the one or two pedals were activated. A few of the Fenders he rebuilt like this still exist and this is the way he did it.

I was playing a gig on one of those fender dual pros a couple years ago backing Chris Scruggs at the local using the “midnight tuning”. Lloyd Green came out to watch the show and during a break Chris brought me over to meet him. And after watching me play for about 45 minutes, the first and only thing he could say to me was “Haha, yeah, I had one of those tri-pod guitars when I first came to town.” Me and Chris thought that was the best thing he could’ve said and still laugh about today. I’ll take that over any artificial compliment that people always give.
