Here is the auction # in case anybody wants to look. 280062410827
I can't imagine why anybody would want to spend that kind of money on that guitar.

If it were an old Ford Maverick the bid price may be right. I find it hard to believe that the bid is as high as it is.

It could be the Robert Randolph syndrome, young people know nothing about the pedal steel, but have to have one because RR does.
Just my opinion, of course. |

Some believe that there are dishonest people out there, yes I know this is hard to believe, and that have family members or friends run up the price to get a higher sell price. I don't know if this is one of them but if someone can tell me why a $595.00 guitar with a $75.00 pedal would go for that amount Legitimately then I will listen. |

A lot of people try to learn the steel and do not want to pay a very high price. But this one is extravacant.
Never seen one on Flea-Bay that went this high.

All I have to say on this sale is ( get it if you can ). Person selling might be up grading. and use the money to buy from a Forum menber. When your selling your stuff dont you want the most $$$$ you can get.
(unless your giving it away).
p/s... its not my sale, some day it might be.I sure would like that kind of $$$$$ for mine,to up grade to a super-side 8 sing from MSA.
( Used Pinto's go for almost $4.ooo here.WoW |

Anyone like to buy 3 of 'em for that price????
Seriously Guys, when the unknowing see the name "Sho~Bud", they have been told it is a "top of the line steel", and as most of us know, the majority of them are. [This message was edited by Bob Knight on 25 December 2006 at 01:07 PM.] |

yes Bob but does the tone come from the strings, picks, or hands. is it inherant? that is highly important. what about the amp, amp settings. can it surpass a banjo, bass, six string or mandolin. all of these things come into play before the initial purchase. |

Really Bill? One of my friends bought an '30's Epiphone Electar plectrun guitar on ebay a couple of weeks ago for $1,000. now It's at Gruhn's for $2,000! That's pretty good!

Well, George really wanted it. I think he's got a collector/buyer already lined up. AND, he made some consessions to get it. It's an incredibly rare plectrum guitar. A very early electric, it's got that Ric-lookin' horseshoe type pu. It would be even more valuable if it hadn't had the neck repaired ages ago.
