Zumsteel D-10

Post by Dan Cooper »

I bought this guitar from forum member David Alexander almost exactly 9 years ago. You can view pictures from the time of sale here:

https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtop ... highlight=

Please read David's thorough description. It still applies, except I changed out the E9 pickup for (I think) a Wallace True Tone. It hasn't been out of the case in years and it wasn't played much in the whole time I've had it. I'd like to pass it on to someone who will actually play it. It's a beautiful guitar.

$4,500 + shipping. About what I paid for it in 2023 dollars.
I'm downsizing, so no trades please.
I'd prefer payment by Zelle, Cash app or check to avoid fees.

Dan

I will be driving through Nashville, TN August 28-29, so if anyone there, or en route from New Orleans, wants to buy this guitar, we won't have to worry about shipping costs/risk. I'm on a tightish schedule so would not be able to veer too much from this route.

Do Zums of this vintage have spilt-tuning? Are the screws I'm seeing the lower-return springs?

A bump for a very tempting guitar!!! And it's a Day setup!

Roger the back of the neck is not tapped for the split screws there, but you could certainly add the extra rod to achieve the split that way !!

Thanks, Paddy. I am tempted, but the shortage of Zum parts is a disincentive, even if this is already 'Day'.
