I have an old 8 string supro which has original functional machine heads.
They work. Old, little sloppy, ...but ... they work.
They are separate. Not in-line.
I would like to replace them with some new ones with a high gear ratio if possible.
I don't really see sets for eight strings. Only six.
Any good sources for replacements?
Thanks
K

You're not going to find any 8-string sets. The only Kluson-style 8-string tuners out there are for mandolins, and they're all strip tuners so they won't fit your steel. You'll have to get two 6-string sets.
The current Kluson brand has higher ratio 15:1 tuners in the Vintage Diecast and Supreme series. Grover and Gotoh also make drop-ins with higher ratios than the 12:1 originals.

Thanks for responding to the tuning machine post.
Found my measuring device.
I didn't see an area to send picture in the PM so am showing you what I was able to measure here.
Attached is picture with my measurements.
Most were either right-on (checkmark). Or very close (Circled)
I wasn't able to measure the parts which I have a question mark next to.
Thanks
