| Hello, I need some advise. I have a Lashley Legrande, I need to know what is the correct way to tune the RKR lever, (double lower on the 2nd and single lower on the 9th. Where to start first. Thanks for any insight. |

I tune the second and ninth string on my LeGrande 3 this way:
Second string open to D# at keyhead, second string lowered all the way to C# with nylon tuner, then ninth string open to D at keyhead. Here it gets interesting; I tune the second string half stop to D with the nylon tuner for the NINTH string lower. Then tune the ninth string lower to C# with the split tuning screw at the end of the changer (allen wrench).

Hmmmm....
fortunate this Q popped up; My '78 Super Pro has the double lower on second string (I never use the double lower), single on the ninth, both on RKR. The ninth string lower starts at the half-stop on the second. What I'd like to get is a single lower on both 2nd and 9th, with the 9th lower starting immediately when RKR is engaged. Is that possible? |

Dave H I'm no expert but I'm sure that's possible. It would involve some under carriage work probably. Your knee lever throw would be shorter lowering string 2 just a half step which might be nice. |

Some excellent advice here. What if I can’t get the 2nd & 9th to tune props?
They both stay a little sharp. Should I adjust the throw of the knee lever? It’s in a Lashley LeGrand.

Another way to do this tuning is to tune the 2nd string open to D#. Then Engage the lever and tune the drop lower than C# almost to C. Then tune the half stop with the D string tuner. Finally use the split screw on the changer to tune the 2nd string full drop to C#.
This has worked well for me and thanks to Mickey Adams for showing this method of tuning the 2nd string.
