Hey there, nice guitar!

A few questions please:
  • The copedent says that the G# on 4 goes to F with LKL. Is that right? Or is it a typo and it should be E goes to F on 5?

Is it possible to put changes on the 1st and 14th strings?

What kind of pickup is that? Some kind of humbucker? I've never seen one with 3 rows of poles like that.
Thanks for your time!

14 string

Post by Dan Johnson »

It is a typo , I’ll correct it and yes it is an E to F change.
As far as putting a change on the first sting and last sting I’m not sure, I don’t know why you couldn’t do that.
And I was told the pick up was some kind of emmons pick up.
Also good to know this has a selector switch for the pickup and it’s a removable pickup too.
I got this to do a trade that fell through.

Sierra pickup

Post by Kevin Swan »

I sold my Sierra 14 many years ago, but was told the three-row pickup was a slide-in Danny Shields.

You could be absolutely right, I agave no idea, just what I was told about it.
If I dont sell this I’ll have it set up for E7.

Yes, Sierra's Triple Range pickup by Dan Shields. Very nice and clean sounding pickups with 3 selections. This is the same as on the 2 SCM Sierra 14s I used to own.

trades

I’m open to trades on this guitar, looking for a remington pedal steel or something GFI Ultra , or emmons, possibly a bowman.

Do you know the year? I believe the last two numbers of the serial # denote the year.
Any pictures of the case?

Hey Bill, I’m about to post more pictures and update the copedant.
If I don’t sell it in the next few weeks I plan on keeping and setting it up with a E7 sacred steel tuning.
So just be patient with me , we’ve had a rough week here and a sick dog cross the rainbow bridge.
God bless you and I will get all of this updated for you this week.
thank you for your patience.
