Pre-Announcement: Lloyd Green - The Blues Man

Post by Walter Stettner »

Greetings Eeverybody,

Lloyd Green just sent me a brand new track of "The Blues Man" that was just finished for listening - All I can say this one is absolutely fantastic and IMHO the best live recording that I ever heard of him. Steel in perfect tune and a wealth of fascinating facettes of the instrument.

The track goes back about 15 - 20 years and not even Lloyd remembers where he played it. The playing is right out of this world and I know what I will do for the rest of the weekend - listen again and again to get at least a small percentage of the musical ideas included.

No need to speak further about the playing, but it has to be especially mentioned that Russ Pahl did the entire editing of that recording. And what a great job he did, eliminating and adding whatever was needed to make this a new recording with an incredible sound!

Lloyd himself wasn't sure when this will be available to the public but it should be in the next few days. I am sure that Russ will know more details and provide the info where you can listen to the track.

Kind Regards, Walter

Yeah Lloyd sent the Recording to me and Walter; when Russ finished making it a Track from that 20 year ago compilation CD; and here is Lloyd's description to me:
"The Blues Man" is a live recording from sometime around 20 years ago, and remains shrouded in mystery. I played it only at 4 different performances around the time Russ and I were completing my "Revisited" album in 2002."
Brilliantly, Dynamically played Lloyd; thank you so much for Sharing. Love ya,
Ricky
