Lost Highway Saloon Album - Johnny Bush info?

Post by Richard Sinkler »

Just discovered this awesome album. It lists som guy named Buddy Emmons (ever heard of him ? - LOL), Tommy Detamore, Herb Steiner, and Bobby Flores as steel players. I can pretty much pick out the songs Buddy is on. What songs did the others play on?

And who is the female vocalist on "The Wall"? I would like to hear more of her.

Thanks Ricky. I kind of thought it might be her. Been years since I heard her.

Yes, nobody can sing like Leona and nobody can play pedal steel like Dicky...Here they are together right after I put this Sho~Bud first year LDG together for Dicky and he played on many Leona albums.

Wow, Leona is a Missouri treasure and I have seen her dozens of times at many steel shows. Her son Ron Williams is just as awesome of a singer. And Dicky is a phenomenal choice for her recordings. What a combination of country music royalty. Thanks Richard and Ricky for bringing this to light.

I don't remember if 'When it's your turn to fall' is on that record, but Bobby Flores played steel on that song. Bobby was a great guy and musician.

Funny, I talked with Johnny about steel players and he always complained about Dicky's playing, his primary criticism was it was too loud. he said I can turn down the volume on a record but not when you are listening to him playing.

Wonder if Dickey was playing barefoot? Awesome tone and so much emotion.

When I got the waffle pedals from you for my Bud, you told me that now I could play in my stocking feet, just like you and Dickey.
So, I keep trying it barefoot, but I don't sound anything like you or Dickey!

I think we got a little sidetracked.
