Hmmm - that night at 7 my jazz quartet, with me on steel, plays at Jo Bar in Portland, so either it’ll be a fantastic way to warm up and get lots of ideas to steal, or it’ll destroy my body hauling all that stuff twice…..
I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to resist seeing and playing with the Portland steel gang, especially if John McClung is coming!
Thanks, Larry - I hope you know how much we all appreciate you putting these together.

Folks, if you can at all make this... it will be the steel jam memory of your life.
Years ago, when I made the trek north to attend, I was just blown away. What fun. That year there were 35 steel guitarists in a giant circle on the nightclub's floor... in a huge circle... and a live band on the stage, playing the endless loops of each song... so each attendee could have a portion of the live steel guitar parts.
What fun.
Larry, you guys rock on... I'll be there in spirit!

Larry, huge thanks to you for making this happen; I have been waiting for this since the last note of "Steel Guitar Rag" at the end of the set last May, and have especially been waiting to try some new stuff based on what I learned from the MANY mistakes I made last time! Last time I was introduced as "the blind guy with the white guitar over there", but now that I've been to the venue and know how amazingly clean it is, I'll be bringing my Williams D10 I usually play at home. I can't wait for the setlist so I can start practicing up. Thanks again Larry and Jubitz; this is really a one-of-a-kind event.

So, call me a fool, but what "Zach" posted.... good lord, what an amazing story to get young blood into this instrument of ours.
... and way more to the point, it's a giant fun feast for steel guitar players....
What is not to like?
Rock on you Portland steelers... best steel jam I've ever been to!

This event is organized by Larry, a great guy you’ll want to say Hi to if you can.
There is no cost to get in, it is a truck stop with a large bar/dance floor/dining area. It would be good to buy food and/or drink if you are just there to watch. I don’t believe there is a cost if you are bringing your equipment to play along as well.
It is an absolute blast!

Richard, I might add too that this is one of the best steel jams I've ever been too, I've been to most over the years. No cost to get in, food is reasonably priced, and everyone is extremely nice. Its all about steel. No singers, no wasted time with fiddle and guitar players taking solos. Great backup band of rhythm guitar, bass and drums. My only complaint is that its too short. Starts at 1pm and ends at 5pm. Funny, at 5, everybody quickly packs up and goes home.
