Excel makes a non pedal 10 string on legs. Jerry Byrd plays one and Sierra makes a 10 string lap steel.

JB plays an 8-string, Erv. I don't believe he's ever played a 10-string.

Herb Remington made me a 10 string non-pedal a few years ago. Here's the link to his website..

Herb is a great guy, and he answers his own phone!

I have a 10 string resonator guitar that I am building. I can set it up for whatever tuning/string combination you are using.

E-mail me off the board if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Walter -- I believe that SGF member (and Dale Watson's long-time steel player), Ricky Davis builds custom 10-string non-pedal guitars. I can't make their other webpage come up, but here's a link that will show you what it looks like:

I've heard it on recording, and it's a SWEEEEET sounding guitar!

Good luck.

Hi, Walter, I just had a pretty nice custom ten string made for me by Freeman Cowgar at Cougar guitars. It's more or less like a pedal steel neck on a shallow body with resonating chambers. Hopefully he'll get better and get back to making them, he has several standard models of ten string lap or non pedal, and is constantly tinkering to get them better.

I think maybe you're right. I just kind of assumed that since it was on a pedal steel frame that it was a 10 string. Just goes to show that a left-handed Norwegian can be wrong once in a while too!
Uff-Da!

Thanks Jeff,

Boskie would be ok with a uke, if you could stand his singing.
And thanks for correcting the link Brad.
I'll have prices up soon. It looks like I'll be able to have lower prices. Any one I gave a price to, I'll give the lower price.
Just got some GREAT curly maple at a good price.
