A Tab In Memory of Bob

Post by John A. Russell »

I was so sad to learn this morning, of the passing of Bob.
His forum has helped so many of us in many ways.

I would like to give away my brand new version of "Amazing Grace" and track. It seems fitting that I wrote this before learning of Bobs passing.

If anyone would leave a personal tribute for Bob's family here. I will send the tab to you.

Please leave your name and email address so I can send the tab.

My condolences to Bobs family & friends

Kind Regards

Amazing Grace

Post by Gil James »

Hi John, I'd love to try your version of this great hymn. As we all know, none of this would be possible ,had it not been for the vision that b0b had many moons ago for this forum. The best tribute would be to keep it going with as much participation from everyone as it always has been. Thanks,Gil

John I would love to have your tab
version & track of this wonderful hymn. One of the most contributions from all of us would be to continuously give monetarily to this great gift, it don't run for free, but never required of us to give anything, always given to us with the faith of partnership via contribution. Let's keep it going...

This (Bob's) forum convinced me I might (some day) be able to play pedal steel guitar.
Bob's legacy is the immense good he has left behind. (with amazing grace)
He built an international community.

Sincere and lasting sympathy for the family!

This forum and the work that Bob put in it has inspired me to keep trying to conquer this most complicated of instruments at times when I decided that I would give up and put it in the case forever. Condolences to Bob’s family.

Thanks to bOb and this forum I have learned a lot regarding the mechanics and trouble shooting.
He was also an inspiration on continuing to learn how to play.
There are many great players here and bOb brought the low life players into the halls of the great ones to be instructed and keeping the psg alive, thanks bOb.

Hello John,

Thank you for the TAB of Amazing Grace.

Thank you too for the extra help and playing tips that you have given me recently. Your generosity is well appreciated.

I purchased the Jim Reeeves, (Gary Carter) 'I love You Because' TAB this weekend. I can recommend this TAB to anyone that does not have it. Check-out the Gary Carter video on YouTube.

I don't know Bob, condolences to his friends and family.

Cheers!

Charles.

I met Bob at a psg roundup in Sacramento last year, at the Sidetrack. Kudos for giving us the Forum, too.

John I would love to receive the tabs for Amazing Grace. Bob did so much for this amazing and frustrating instrument. When I got hit a roadblock l could always count on Bob's steel guitar forum. Whether it was a problem with tuning or hit a mental block on a song. Thanks, Bob you have helped so many. kburris82@yahoo.com

b0b was a visionary when he began this site. It's reassuring his capable family will be carrying on the tradition. My sincere condolences to the Lee family.

Sad day for the steel community that bOb brought together!

I had a lesson with bOb once at his home in Cloverdale. I was so honored, and met his wife too! He was also instrumental in the open jams in Cloverdale.

John - I don't come onto the Forum as often as I should, so the news of b0b's passing was news to me.
I already have a (worn) copy of Amazing Grace, so no need for you to reply.
I want to credit b0b with his generousity, acumen and diligence in managing the Forum as well (and strictly!) as he did.
The Forum was instrumental in my making my limited progress on this incredible machine.
I don't do God, but my thoughts are with b0b and his family today.
