Sincere condolences to B0b's family and may he rest in peace. It's hard to imagine the amount of people whose lives he touched by creating this forum and using his vision to create a community that included everyone from many great masters of the instrument to the humblest beginners.
I met him only once when he was in Seattle and came to a gig I was playing. He seemed to me to be a kind, enthusiastic, and curious person, just the type we need a whole lot more of in this world. Thanks for everything you've done and everything you've left for us...oj

Nobody has done more for the steel guitar community than Bobby Lee.
I am very sad to hear of his passing. b0b was always quick to answer questions, and when the occasional spat or other awkward situation arose on the forum, he always handled it with fairness and grace. I’ve enjoyed his playing too. He had some innovative ideas. You’re missed, b0b! Thanks for everything.
My condolences to the family.

IMHO, b0b's idea and vision of a place to discuss all things steel guitar ranks such a close 2nd to the actual invention of pedal steel that I would not know how to measure the distance. Technology can be used for great things or horrible things. b0b knew how to use it in its very best and most powerful way. Thank you so much.

Thanks for your friendship, and all that you put into the Steel Guitar Forum. Steel guitar wouldn't be what it is today without your efforts. So thank you so much for all the years you gave us all so much....

This is so heartbreaking. His wisdom, patience and understanding were the heart of this community. So many of my deepest and most lasting friendships began in this world he created for us. There is no way exaggerate his positive impact on the pedalsteel. I'm going to redouble my efforts to be kind, generous and patient to honour his memory.
Bob

RIP Bobby
A man I never met, through a personal passion, allowed me to be able explore a musical instrument I’d never thought of playing. Through his work and dedication he brought the joyful experience of the steel Guitar to the internet, and a community gathered around him. His absence will be felt, indefinitely. Thank you Bob, the world is brighter, and has more sense of community because of you.
I swear they tuned it when I bought it
