I still play those tunes too...Lindley was one of many performers on an album called "Five String Banjo Greats" where I learned them.

Trying to confirm if what you're saying here is true. I certainly hope not, and nothing online has picked this up at this point.

There is some discussion here - https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q= ... ap%20steel

and there's this - https://todays-obits.com/2023/03/03/dav ... ath-cause/

Wikipedia states this:
David Perry Lindley (born March 21, 1944) was an American musician who founded the band El Rayo-X, and has worked with many other performers including Jackson Browne, Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon, Curtis Mayfield and Dolly Parton. ...
and Fretboard Journal has posted on their facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/fretboardjournal/

So I suspect it is true, but I haven't seen any official corroboration at this point.

OK, it does look like local LA news is confirming this - e.g., https://claremont-courier.com/latest-ne ... -78-72983/. A terrible loss for so many of us steel players, and so many others who just love his music.

I think we should keep this thread open so that additional contributions can be made to his family - that was the purpose of this thread.

But please visit the Gone Home thread to discuss this terrible loss - https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=389380

I heard the news this morning and how sad to hear that he's gone. David has always been a huge influence on me and countless others so RIP David and I will pray for those who were the closest to you.

FYI, as of 3/4/23, the person who started the fundraiser is keeping it active to help out the family at this time of grief.

I got to wear my Lindley tee at a gig on the day he passed. It was the best way I could think of to pay respect by wearing his image and playing lap steel on a gig. He will be missed for sure.

How is the sizing on these after washing? I usually wear a 2X, but printed shirts frequently shrink up to be too small for me. On the other hand, I don’t want to order a tent. Any feedback would be appreciated!
