I know this is computer stuff but it's steel related too. Do any of you steel players have a Mac and a Jaz drive?

I have some of the Steel Guitar World Magazines on Jaz drive and I need to find a way to get the data onto a DVD.

I'm checking into Data recovery places but I expect that when I hear back from them, the price will be too high.

I'm sure Russ won't mind giving away a set of the magazines to someone if they can help us get this data transferred. I didn't ask him but he seems like the type of guy who would go for that.

So who can help transfer this valuable steel guitar data from Mac Jaz discs to PC DVD discs?

Gary, unless the Jaz drive isn't functioning, just copy all files from it to your Mac, then burn to a DVD natively in OS X, or better yet with Roxio Toast, almost any version should work.

I don't have a Mac or a Jaz drive or any SCSI devices.

Gary, if you have just a Jaz disk, then you'll need to find someone who has the drive you insert it into. Then the data can be read off of there and burned to DVD. Suggest you post this in the Computers forum.

Keep us posted.

I happen to have access to a nice JAZ drive and a Mac with GIANT storage potential... not to mention a fine DVD burner. This is all professional television equipment...the finest that someone else can buy!!!

Let me know if you need my help.
