I am looking for two different neck tuning suggestions for a double neck 8 string lap steel.
The genres I like are blues, country, bluegrass and maybe a little gospel.

(I mainly play a 10 string pedal steel tuned to E9 but I like to doodle (or noodle?) around on a lap steel even though it isn't as flexible as a pedal steel for chords (umm... Rolling Eyes I hope that last comment about chords didn't put me in the "Steel Without Pedals" danger zone!!!)

Thanks
K

Hello Kristen,

My M.O. when it comes to tunings....
On the back neck I have my go-too tuning. A G6. I pretty much leave it alone except for an occasional twist of a key. I play all styles of music with it.
And the front neck I use for all kinds of expirimenting. I might have any tuning on it at any given time. Maybe A6 maybe E13, or B11. I started using a C13, but have changed it to something else by now.
