Does anyone tune 9th string to D#. I am just a beginner so I don't know all the benefits or the losses in this tuning. When I lower it to C# and combine A pedal. I get a deep harnonic with the two which makes many fuller sounds IMO. Any one else tune 9 to D#. What else can I do with this. I am playing a Williams SD 10 5 and 4 with Franklin pedal.
Comments welcomed.

It's very useful tuned to D, and the lower to C# is useful, too. Like most people, I get the D# from the 8th string lower lever. I've never felt the need to also have it available on the 9th string.

Hi Doc,
For many years I tuned the 9th string to D# and lowered it to C# with a 1/2 stop at D, the same as most do with the second string. It made sense to me since D# is in the E major scale and also when you think of the tuning as a B6th the D# note fits. I found myself lowering it to D quite often so I now tune it to D and still lower to C#. So now I miss the open D# and am playing around with ideas on where to raise the D to D# on my guitar.

At present I have s9 tuned to C# and raised to D
I have had it to go D to D#, but do like b0b, use the E lower.

I figure I play E69 and C6
