Who's the steeler?

Saw a new face on steel on the Presley's show tonight. Nice job on some old country classics.

Kevin Clemmons, He's a Great Steel Guitarist too. He's been around the Branson Missouri area for several years now. Originally from the Kansas City area. I've heard him loose and doing his thing several years ago, he was an incredible player. The Branson Shows stifle a lot of players. I spent two years on a Big Show there in the early 1980s. Made some great long time friends, but musically it was the most boring job that I ever played. Sadly Kevin Clemmons may never get to play much music there. He has another profession too. I'm not sure it may be in real estate.

This is an older taping of the Presleys’ show, they sometimes incorporate a song that they filmed several years ago. I’m starting my 9th season with the Presleys, and have done the television shows during that time. Kevin started with the Presleys in 2010, and I started with the Presleys in 2015. A little explanation to what Terry said, but when Kevin was on the show, there were 9 musicians, and with that size of band, it’s hard to get very much playing time, by the time I started with the Presleys, Mark Walker, who was a utility player and had been with the show for 20 plus years, had a bad stroke, and was unable to perform, so I actually took the role of 2 musicians. I’m actually getting to play more steel than Kevin did, because our band is now an 8 piece. Kevin is also an accountant, and has lived in Branson for many years. I think the only playing that he’s doing now, is on Friday nights, for the Grand Jubilee’s radio show. So, anytime you see Kevin on Presleys RFD show, it’s an older clip from when he was on the show, before me.

Thanks for clearing that up Dean. No wonder I didnt recognize alot in that lineup. Glad your still with them as I have been a big fan of yours for a while. It's a great pleasure watching top notch musicians ply their trade with such a variety of music as y'all do. I would love to peek backstage at the instrument/equipment inventory that you guys pick from, there are some sweet guitars I see out there.
