Lessons with Troy
Good morning,
I'm constantly looking at YouTube to gather some info especially on new interests that catch my attention. Lessons with Troy has popped up pretty regularly. I see that he has a website with lessons on various tunings. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using that site? I was going to try a month and see how it goes but not sure what it includes.
Is there any other online classes that can be recommended?
Thanks in advance!
Matty

Yep, lots of experience. Troy is the best. Leans heavier to dobro but plenty of lap steel lessons.

I'm a satisfied repeat customer, but have nothing to compare to. I've learned much from his lessons. I buy individual lessons because it suits my pace (and I bought a few before streaming started). A subscription would work great to explore different tunings. I recommend.

I am likely too late with this post, but I do want to go on record with my praise for Lessons with Troy. I switched to dobro and lap steel at the beginning of the pandemic, after many years on guitar. I continue to use Troy's site daily, sometimes buying individual lessons and other times purchasing a month or two of access to the entire site. Whether I am learning honky-tonk licks in c6 tuning, or old-timey music in in Dobro G tuning, or playing a bit of everything in open D, there is just a wealth of info on his site. The lessons are affordable, thorough, well-produced, and perfectly paced. I don't mean any disrespect to other teachers. I am sure there are great ones out there. And I don't mean to take up a lot of space here making an endorsement.
But getting high quality, affordable music lessons -- or high quality, affordable anything for that matter -- is a challenge these days, and I want acknowledge integrity when I see it!
Thank you

Thank you for that! I'm going that route I believe. Got a bit of time this weekend - going to sign up tomorrow and get going!John Chadwick wrote:I am likely too late with this post, but I do want to go on record with my praise for Lessons with Troy.
