A rare bird! A late-50s Marlen (It's like a 10-string guitar without strings 1 & 2). Living only about an hour from Reidsville, I assume this has always stayed local.
Belonged to the owner's father years ago. Asking $650+shipping - will include a Marlen pack-seat in good shape for local pickup. I might be willing to travel a little to connect. Comes in what I assume is its original wooden case.
Mike Calaway worked it over a few years back, and it's playing well again now. Fully functional with a nice tone (no crackle). Probably not going to be your main axe, but a damn good starter or second.

Rare, for sure
Never seen a build from Marlen done this way. Reverse painted clr name plate, non roller nut. Ciggie-burn in place. It’s at a thrift store price as well. A marvel.

Re: Rare, for sure
Thanks, Jon. Not trying to gouge anyone. A fair price for a playable piece of history, and a Marlen to boot.Jon Zimmerman wrote:Never seen a build from Marlen done this way. Reverse painted clr name plate, non roller nut. Ciggie-burn in place. It’s at a thrift store price as well. A marvel.
