ASCAP vs BMI or others?

Post by Brian Hollands »

For those who write/publish, any preferences between ascap and bmi? Any others to consider? I know of Harry Fox but don't think it's applicable yet. Just writing some original music and not wanting to have it ripped off.
Appreciate any thoughts on the topic

I have always used BMI and I'm a BMI writer at WC Edgar Music
I have always gotten my royalty checks when I was supposed to.
If you are a writer and also do your own publishing you always get two checks, one for your writer's rights and one for your publishing rights.

I appreciate the feedback. I think BMI works for me, that's the way I was leaning. Seems 6 one way, half a dozen the other...
