Hello reader ,
I have a guyatone lap steel S8 wich has two pickups like the one on the picture here and I have a problem with the output on the high E string. It seems like the volume is lower than the 2 previous strings, it has somehow less punch.
That is annoying because a lot goes melodywise on this set of string and not having an even sound when attacking strings is kind of frustrating.
I don't like to change an original setup to an instrument but that makes me consider a pickup replacement. Or is there an other kind of solution to make that E string sound more punchy ? What kind of pickups that would fit the guitar should I look for ?
Thanks a lot for your guidance and help.
Regards

See my response in the following thread as to what a dead high string wound up being in my S6 Guyatone. Design flaw in the ground wire placement - mechanically decoupling the bridge plate from the body of the guitar. You can see a picture at the end of the thread. Please let us know what you find.
