Emmons lg2 changer needed

I have a friend that ordered a new lg2 in 1995 and finally needs to
Replace the changer on the E9 neck.
He says that the usage has caused grooves in the changer where the strings
Slide against it.
He doesn’t want to try to grind/buff the grooves out he’d rather purchase a new changer.
Also, if he’s unable to find one; there shouldn’t be an issue if he wants to swap his c6 changer with the front neck eh?
I can’t think of any treason why it wouldn’t.
