Note the "bass" player on the album cover with the derby and mustache... he played bass on this great record.

Roger is right... Jimmie and Russ played some stunningly, awesome stuff together.

You're right, Tiny! It was the Big E! I'd forgotten that.

Jimmy called me, collect, when he got the record. He said he wanted me to hear something. He put the vinyl LP on and walked away from the phone. I listened to the whole first side before I hung up. Next time I talked to him he just laughed. That was just classic Jimmy Crawford.

I have that album in my collection. I believe they made a CD later. Not sure if I have it somewhere in my hoard of things.

Ben! Great story and, as you say, just like Jimmie!

I have definitely seen this on a CD release, but it was a while ago.

Good stuff on this album.

One of my favorite acts at the ISGC was Crawford and Hicks sets. Always a lot of fun watching these 2 guys play. Sure miss that and miss Jimmie too.

Right, Jerry!

I only attended two ISGCs and, on the last one ('02, maybe?), Jimmie and Russ introduced a young Buck Reid to the audience and had him play with them.

And then there were three!!!

I'm privileged to have known all three of these lovely guys. I got to tour with Jimmie with Slim Whitman and he was endlessly generous with his help and advice, not to mention him being the funniest guy on the bus! :)
